Nappies cost an arm and a leg these days. What with one poop or a pee costing around $0.40 a pop, no wonders parents are keen to get their little ones trained up as soon as possible.

Most parents – like myself – purchase Aldi’s range of cheap (but really efficient) nappies. Others have their preferences but the list is long and to quote them all means I have nothing better to do today.

All of us will prefer to purchase Huggies if given the chance but their prices are prohibitive.

Big W often drops their prices down on a nappy sale day and on this very day I hung around for a bargain.

Walked out with two boxes and it made my day. Massive savings woohoo!

I ran into Chewie and Darth one day. They were out having coffee.

Dirty, oily and hungry. Somebody clean this boy up already!

"So which one's the sheep again?"

The normally ‘destructive’ Levi became extremely placid when faced with a bored sheep who was more concerned with grazing.

Collingwood Children’s Farm is a rather odd place to find nature, vast green fields and lots of animals to mingle with. It’s only 10 minutes from the CBD but it almost seems like the metropolitan skyline is hours away.

In three months we’ve been to the farm twice, and due to her proximity to Abbortsford Convent – where great cafe grub and coffee is served – we find ourselves rather enjoying the weekend there.

Have you ever observed what a toddler gets up to when left alone to his or her own devices?

In this case, Exhibit A was left alone in his own bedroom while I stood outside.

Exhibit A – or Levi as more commonly known – gets up to the silliest things.

Case in point:

A minute of crying later, he still doesn't look pleased at all.

Levi’s hair has never been cut.

In all of 17.5 months since March 17, 2011 we’ve let it grow and grow as really, I don’t see the point in cutting it.

It’s his birth hair, and it’s special to me as well…it’s his birth hair.

Michele has been wanting to get it cut for awhile now and perhaps it’s time we got to doing it.

Regardless, 17.5 months of uncut baby hair from birth can get a little unruly.

Oh, and also still renting, car-less (none of us could drive yet!) and definitely very much in love.

I also noticed how much slimmer we both were. Not going to say anymore or Michele will kill me! *grins*

An advert for inter-racial dating? An International Student's success story? All of the above!

Best present I've received in all 32 years of my life.

Levi presented me with a gift he had created in creche on the Friday just gone.

It’s a little hand and brush painted box with a picture of him hard at work producing it and also a lunch time picture of the two of us.

Coincidentally, it was also the day I turned up mid-day in creche for the very first time.

This really is the first time Levi is physically capable of producing an art piece all by himself. Last year’s Father’s Day may have been my first, but Father’s Day 2011 is especially poignant.

Suffice to say this gift won’t be going anywhere for a long, long time.

It’s Father’s Day today and it’s 5:57am but I feel like I’ve already been up a couple of hours.

Levi tends to stir and wake up around this time, and my natural body clock switches on around 5am everyday regardless, so mornings are always a good time to get some ‘admin’ stuff done before Levi demands for his morning milk.

I had Friday morning off to run a couple of errands, and also managed to drop in on Levi while he’s at creche.

I was invited by creche to turn up for Father’s Day morning tea and celebrate with the little buns but I was unfortunately a couple of hours late.

I have never had the time to visit Levi in the arvo, so it’s a first for me.

Regardless, I turned up just past mid-day and walked right into 15 toddlers having their lunch.

Levi was happily making a mess and wasn’t even paying attention to the presence of his Daddy, who was standing right next to him.
