Baby's working up some sweat in there!

Hello, I hope you are all well.

That’s Baby’s heartbeat. It has gone down a little; a month ago or so it was almost 180 beats. Unbelievable. It’s like Baby’s climbing Col du Tourmalet in a two man breakaway group and the peloton’s 1km behind.

Our trips to Jean Wong are now of the fortnightly variety with Michele pass the Week 32 stage. We paid a visit to our favourite obstetrician again this morning, this time with Caroline in tow.

I don’t know how mothers-to-be with public health services have their consultations, but going private health care was the best decision Michele and I have ever made. Sure, the frequent visits to Jean are a little frustrating and yes it costs a fair bit more for private, but it’s great building a relationship with Jean. It’s not easy giving your wife away to strangers while they are responsible for the welfare of your wife and baby, so it’s easier when your obstetrician is an extremely likeable lady who genuinely makes efforts to know you. We always feel relaxed and at east when Jean speaks with us. She’s got that way of disarming your fears.

I can only hope Michele’s delivery is just as smooth and easy!
